lighting level
The lighting level ...
... depends on the light that is set free by each lamp as well as on how a room reflects that light.
Examples for degrees of reflection:
- white ceiling or white wall up to 85%
- terracotta coloured wall up to 40%
- black floor 0%
The examples show that it is important to use either more lamps or light intense lamps in order to reach a high lighting level as it is necessary for activities, such as reading and crafting in the living room or shaving and doing make-up in the bathroom. |

distribution of brightness
The distribution of brightness ...
... is not the same as the level of lighting.
Harmonic lighting distribution is not attained when a narrowly shining hanging lamp with a high level of lighting is situated in front of a dark wall which is seen when looking up from the table. It is tiring for the eye to adapt to the contrasts each time.
The contrast between light and dark should not be too strong on the one hand and not too weak on the other hand. Too little contrast makes the room look monotone which translates into a feeling of uncomfortableness. |

glare
Glare happens ...
... when sunlight hits your eye directly. The same effect occurs when lights with light intense bulbs without any blends are used, such as a 75-watt low voltage halogen floodlight.
There should be no glare in a well-lightened room.

TIZIO 50 black
table luminaire
This timeless table luminaire is represented in all renowned design collections of the most important museums worldwide..
The transformer is integrated into the luminaire base, the power supply to the luminaire head occurs completely without cable but by the bars of the luminaire construction. The clever thing about the luminaire is the use of counter balances to retain the luminaire in the desired position. Thanks to its reasoned and robust construction TIZIO has a wide operating radius and a long durability.
designer: Richard Sapper
material: aluminium, black lacquered

BOOM 1226 wall luminiare
design wall luminaire
Wall luminaire made of copper and brilliant crystal bubble glass. An annular shield made of copper prevents glare from the luminaires, without affecting the brilliance of the crystal bubble glass. These luminaires are designed for applications around the house, alongside doors, gates and on pillars. The light from the luminaires is as vivid as the material. Copper forms its own protective coating and develops its distinctive character when enhanced by its resulting patina. Quality, durability and beauty are attributes which have characterized this material for centuries.
material: hand-blown crystal bubble glass, copper

light and shadow
Clear perception ...
... of objects and structures depends on the diffusion of light by a lamp, and its arrangement in a room in accordance with an object. A ceiling light with an opal glass shade creates a soft and even light with minimal formation of shadows.
A narrowly shining low-voltage floodlight creates sharp-edged shadows. Hardly anything can be seen in such a shadow. It is dangerous when such lamps are used in places like landings and staircases. A combination of the above-mentioned lighting variations often is the best solution.
Shadows with soft edges are ideal. Three-dimensional perception is not possible without any shadows. A room which is too evenly illuminated appears to be boring.
Most people prefer their light shining from the upper left-hand corner. It prevents the emergence of shadows during the writing process. |

ceiling luminaire
Downlights for tungsten halogen lamps with thick-walled crystal glass and reflectors of pure anodized aluminium. The glare from the main downlight is optimally suppressed by the partially frosted inside of the crystal glass. A small part of the light is directed laterally by the glass onto the ceiling and into the room, and provides additional visual comfort due to horizontal illuminance.
award: iF-product design award
material: crystal glass, partially frosted; reflector of pure anodized aluminium; housing white aluminium enamel

Borg S
pendant design luminaire
Modern pendant luminaire with transparent crystal glass diffuser. The inner part of the diffuser is sandblasted to provide an additionally soft indirect light distribution.
designer: Harbour design, 2005
material: steel brushed

colour of light
The colour of light is the characteristic light of each lamp.
This colour of light is measured in Kelvin. The more red parts in a light, the warmer it seems to be, and accordingly, the lower the colour temperature. The more blue parts in a light the colder a light seems to be and the colour temperature is higher.
We can see a warm light in a sunset or a white candle light. The closest to this is a bulb because it produces a white and warm light of about 2,700 K with a high amount of red.
Energy saving lamps exist in different colours ranging from 2,700 K up to 8,000 K. 6,000K, contain more blue and less red elements and create a light similar to daylight. They resemble the colour temperature of midday sun.

task light
The light head can rotate and tilt on the rigid arm. Two alumimium arms are connected together by a hinge and a visible connecting strut, this together with internal springs provides stabilisation. The integral cables are only visible at the hinged joints. The mechanical connection consists of a mounting stud with a safety ring. Table base, desk top base and table clamp are accessories and must be ordered separately.

colour rendering
Colour rendering is not to be mixed up ...
... with the colour of light. Colour rendering determines how close a colour of an abject is reflected to its original colour.
Colour rendering is divided into different categories ranging from 1A – excellent colour rendering - to 2B – good colour rendering (such as lamps for property protection).
Very good colour rendering should be given in the living area which means lamps of the category 1A should be used. |

comfort lighting
Comfort lighting means ...
... the ability to adapt light to each situation.
Lamps and groups of lamps should be switched on and dimmed separately. This can be done with a fixed switch or dimmer as well as from each point in the room via remote control. Bulbs and tungsten halogen lamps can usually be dimmed easily.
If you want to dim any kind of energy saving lamps or fluorescent lamps, do not hesitate to inform us so that those lamps can be modified according to your needs if possible. Please be aware that this includes differing prices as well.
Light Vision24 recommends lighting control for bigger and multifunctionally used rooms.
You will be able to set and to recall different lighting scenes with the help of lighting control, such as partying, watching television, reading a book or dining. |
EU labels
Energy efficiency ...
... is an important criterion when choosing new lamps.
It is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G on the label, whereas A (dark green colour) is the most energy efficient category and G (red colour) the least efficient one.
On every label, you will find additional information on the luminous flux of the bulb in lumens, the electricity consumption of the lamp in watts and the average life length in hours
